Instead of going for that fifty cents a pound pack of ground beef at your local shop n’ save, you can opt for meat that comes from ethical sources, like the organic farming or grass-fed beef industries. 

These are industries that produce meat in small batches, as well as take steps to maintain quality and ethics to produce meat that is not only clean, but sustainable. While it is slightly costlier, keep in mind that this is a small price to pay to do your part in minimizing the global environmental impact. 

Choose Local Meat Sources

A large contributor to the carbon footprint is the transportation and cargo industries. This is because the amount of resources that are needed to transport goods over state lines has a huge impact on carbon emissions. 

To minimize this, you should choose your food from local food sources. Not only does this reduce carbon emissions, but you also get access to quality food straight from the source, which is better for you and your family.
